Shows based on kids are ruling the TRP charts these days. The kids working in the show maybe the talk of the town but its not easy for the production crew to handle the kids’ naughty and cute acts on the sets.

Childish fights of Jagdish and Anandi of Color’s hit show Ballika Vadhu is known to all of us. And now Sphere Origin’s long running show Saat Phere, too has to face the similar kind of hassles from the sweet kids after it has taken a leap of 11 years.

“It’s very hard to handle the kids on the sets. They even get into a fight relating the shooting costume they want to be dressed up in. It so happens that if one kid likes another one’s costume, he/she becomes pigheaded for the same. But it is normal for the kids. We all really enjoy their mischief,” laughs out Deep, Creative Head of Saat Phere.

Even the show’s director Wasim enjoys shooting with the kids, “Shooting with them reminds me of my childhood days. It takes more time and hard work to shoot with the kids but its fun, too.” he concludes.

Reason? She says that if biggies from B’wood can work on the telly, so can she! “Even established actors like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are working on the small screen. Also, it is more exciting to watch stars on the television. When people watch reality shows, they accept you more quickly, as they get to see you more often. This hardly happens in a movie,” says Monica. The actress will soon be seen in a dance reality show.

And what about her ‘good friend’ Rahul Mahajan? “Nahi yaar, uske saath kuchh bhi nahi hai. While on the show, there were so many stories linking the two of us. However, it is funny to note that nobody wants to ask me anything about him anymore,” she says. Well, if you really wanna talk about him, we’re all ears, Monica!

Yes its true!!! They both will soon be seen as guests on Farhan Akhtar’s chat show. Knowing Farhan, apart from filmy twisters, some questions are bound to be about their personal lives.

How the two will confront this topic, or avoid it is some thing the audiences will have to wait and see. For now, Jr Bachchan and Sallu have given common dates of Feb 26 for a shoot together and the show is scheduled to go on air in March.

esha-tusharThe finale of Dancing Queen to be aired on March 8 has an interesting line-up of performances. The finale will not only have performances by the judges Hema Malini and Jeetendra but also Hema’s daughter Esha Deol and Jeetendra’s son Tusshar Kapoor.

Our source said, “It is a smart strategy to get Tusshar and Esha to perform in the same show that their parents are judging. Tusshar was quite excited about the fact that he will be dancing with Esha. They will only be dancing to Jeetendra-Hema songs.”

Although Tusshar was reluctant to talk about the grand finale, on being probed further he said, “Yes they have asked me to perform. It will be akin to competing with my dad since I will be dancing to his songs. I was told that Esha too will be performing at the grand finale. What makes it even more special is that dad and Hemaji will be performing on the same stage as us. I really don’t know if we are going to be directly competing with our parents but it will be nice if dad will judge my performance. Although I am looking forward to it, I know that I will have to do my homework really well.”

Considering how well Jeetendra and Hema dance, Tusshar and Esha sure have tough competition.

salmankhanTaking forward his well-known legacy of taking off his shirt, Bollywood star Salman Khan has done it again – this time on Zee TV’s reality show “Lux Dance India Dance”.

When one of the contestants requested Salman to take his shirt off, he said: “Main har bar shirt utaarta hoon. Abhi shirt utaarte utaarte main thhak gaya hoon. Abhi main pant utarta hoon. (I always take off my shirt. I’m tired of doing it. Now I want to take off my pants).”

However, Salman ultimately obliged his fans and took off his shirt to show off his well-toned body. He has been working out aggressively for his upcoming historical drama “Veer”.

New Delhi, Feb 18 (IANS) The finale of a kids talent hunt event turned chaotic Wednesday after disappointed parents of children who failed to win prizes got into a heated argument with the organisers.

Children and their parents came in large numbers for ‘India’s Little Prince and Princess’, an annual event organised by Gurgaon-based NGO DiyaDeep. It was held at the Indian Air Force auditorium here.

But chaos erupted after the results were announced. Parents challenged the organisers over the results after the prize distribution ceremony, which was attended by Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill.

‘We had this event last year as well but things were fine. This time parents started questioning us as to why their child did not receive the award. There were families of about 300 kids. When all of them started arguing, things went out of hand and I had to call the police,’ Yashi Shukla, DiyaDeep spokesperson, told IANS.

The winners got a scholarship, which will take care of their school fees for three years.

Kids from across the country participated in the show. Those selected had been trained for 20 days in their respective area of talent.

According to Shukla, a possible reason why parents turned angry was because they had travelled to Delhi on their own expense from places as far away as Jharkhand.

‘Last year we selected kids only from areas close to Delhi like Agra and Jaipur but this time we thought of extending the programme to other areas. It is possible that the parents who reacted negatively were the ones who came from far off areas at their own expense and were upset because their children did not win,’ said Shukla.

juhi-sachin1Juhi Parmar and Sachin Shroff are now man and wife. Last evening, Juhi, who became a household name after playing the title role in the popular TV show, Kumkum, and Sachin tied the knot in Jaipur, which is Juhi’s hometown. Several TV stars attended the wedding.

An excited Juhi told Mumbai Mirror, “This is the best day of my life. You have caught me in the middle of a ceremony. I can’t say anything more than this right now.”

When we called Sachin, we weren’t surprised to hear that his callertune was ‘Mehndi laga ke rakhna, doli saja ke rakhna’. He said, “I am on cloud nine. I am just getting ready to go for my shaadi.” “We are coming back to Mumbai after four-five days. After that we will go for our honeymoon. We are yet to decide where we will be going,” added Sachin.

The couple had first met five years ago while shooting for a TV show’s pilot episode. Although they didn’t end up doing the show, the two became close friends during the shoot.

Eventually, they fell in love, and the rest, as they say, is history.

rageshwariDespite being a judge on a talent show, Raageshwari never passed any negative comments on any of the contestants. She tells us, “I agreed to do the show on the condition that I wouldn’t be asked to say anything negative to anybody. I don’t think that strategy ever works.”

Now that the show is over, she’s open to doing more work on TV, but only those shows which are ‘progressive’. How about a talk show for kids, we ask her?

“I’m keen doing a project that gets instant parental approval. It ought to be informative too,” she says. But she candidly admits that she doesn’t actually watch TV at all, telling us, “I don’t have a TV set in my room. And all that saas-bahu bickering, nah! But on the other hand, every time I pass by my mom’s bedroom, I hear the loud background score. If my mother and bhabhi adore such serials, I’m sure they have something interesting to offer.”
